Heejin almost kidnapped!
Lee Heejin has had a bitter kidnapping experience. Before dawn, some men attempted to kidnap Heejin, but only got away with snatching her handbag. The Seoul entertainer, Heejin was forcefully towed into a white vehicle, and it was a life or death fight, in which she prevailed.

This all happened on the night of the 28th at about 2am. 'Funky Funky' rehearsal had just ended and she was returning to DRMusic, when the hoodlums jumped out and attacked her. But Lee Heejin did not submit to them easily. She shouted and fought back. After several minutes of struggle, the scoundrels ran away, only taking her handbag.

These events took place near a new Si River gathering place. Several people were around at the time, drinking inside a bar, at the time of the attack. Heejin was so injured, that she fainted on the street. Her manager came quickly and took her to a neighboring hospital for treatment. This bitter experience has left Heejin frightened for herself and her family. To prevent a similar event, the police hope to catch the hoodlums quickly and remind other entertainers to be careful.

September 7, 2003 - Group Shinhwa and Baby VOX will be going to North Korea, Pyongyang with some other singers on October the 2nd this year. They, representing the South Korea, will be attending the opening ceremony hosted by Pyongyang, on the day before the soccer match between North and South Korea commences.

Being in charge of this activity and as the broadcasting producer, SBS will lead the South Korean artists to Pyongyang on October the 1st. While organising and preparing for this performance, SBS had a hard time deciding which artists should represent South Korea.

An involved party mentioned, "Shinhwa and Baby VOX are the representatives of South Korea's new generation of male and female pop groups. Therefore, they were chosen for this performance." Although Baby VOX had initially planned to perform in China on October the 3rd, they changed the date recently in order to attend the performance in Pyongyang.

This performance will be broadcasted by SBS and North Korea's Central TV Station at the same time.

September 5, 2003 - In the MBC Korean Thanksgiving special "Ok-tahp-bang Goo-rung-ee" ("Roof-top Room Snake") to be aired on September 5, Baby VOX's Yoon Eunhye will be playing Jung Da-bin's character Jung-eun. Yoon Eunhye has made cameo appearances in a number of sitcoms as well as SBS's "Ddok-ba-roh Sal-ah-rah," but this is her first time as the female lead. Cool's Kim Sung-soo will be acting opposite her as Kim Rae-won's character Kyung-min. Also, Eun Ji-won and U;nee will take on Lee Hyun-woo's Dong-joon and Choi Jung-yoon's Hye-ryun roles, respectively.

"I want to do what I want. I want freedom. Up till now, whatever I have really wanted deep inside, I've had to deal with the production of our group for so long, it has become very stressful for me. Sure we are always together and everything, but I want to live independently," explained Eiji.

Eunhye sympathizes with the young women. "They usually work from 6 a.m. until 2 a.m. the next morning, if there are many television appearances. Now that the group is more established, we can pick and choose television programs to suit a less strenuous schedule. The girls hardly get any time off since they must always be out to promote their album."

It's not easy to be in the spotlight. "We always have to hide our true feelings deep inside - I feel like I will explode sometimes. Our expressions must always be presentable," said Eunhye, the youngest of the group.

Eiji, the oldest, found it particularly stressful to keep up with the demands of her work. "It's hard for me, and I feel that after all of this time, I need a break. Sure, it's different for all of the members, and I know that it's hard on everyone, but I need a break."

But when asked about their star-image versus their personal image, each member had something different to say. Eiji said, "My image is sexy, but I don't think that I'm sexy. Many people tell me that I am just easy going, not even like a celebrity type. When I see myself on TV, I don't see myself as sexy. It's our made-up image."

"I am the cute one in the group and many people think that I am a baby. I think that I am more mature," commented Eunhye.

August 15, 2003 - Baby VOX have become CEO's. On August 12, they opened their own shops specializing in the female casual clothing brand "asap." Kim Eiji is in charge of the Lotte Shopping Center main branch, Kan Miyoun the Lotte Shopping Center Young-deung branch, Shim Eunjin the Hyundai Shopping Center Shin-chon branch, Yoon Eunhye the Shin Seh Gae In-chon branch, and Lee Heejin the Hyundai Mia branch. Each member visited their own branch on opening day and gave out autographs in addition to selling clothes themselves. They are also planning to design their own shirts and accessories.

August 03, 2003 - Besides working on individual projects, the members of Baby VOX are also taking some time for rest on thier own. Eiji has gone to Thailand to rest, while Miyoun is in Jejudu in Korea for rest. Eunjin is in the US resting, but the location is unknown. Heejin is practicing for her musical and Eunhye is also working on a television show.

July 27, 2003 - Baby VOX finished their 6th album activities on July 13. The members and their manager has decided to move on seperately and do their own things for awhile.

Kim Eiji is the director of KBSTV2's show 'Week Week Club', while Lee Heejin will work center stage as an actress on the musical 'pengkipengki'. Moreover, Shim Eunjin will continue to act on SBS's 'Beautiful Sunday'. Yoon Eunhye is playing on 'Inborn Fate' showing on MBC. As for Kan Miyoun, she is not doing any activities. Miyoun is studying vocal music. By September, the group is expected to get back together.

July 21, 2003 - Mongolia establishes that Seoul, Korea is a town they want to use as an economic model. So they invited Baby VOX as Korea's typical type of group. Also, Mongolia has given some land, about 3300 square meters, to each member of Baby VOX.

The car parade with Baby VOX will be from the airport to the hotel. At the concert, Korean folk music and Mongolia folk music will be presented. The president of Mongolia will be attending the concert on 7.27

July 15, 2003 - Since Baby VOX had thier Goodbye Special on July 13th, it's time for them to relax. They are already preparing for thier seventh album and so Baby VOX will not be on TV very much in the upcoming months. They'll be having some vacation time also, while travelling to France and Mongolia. Let's hope they have a relaxing time off!

July 15, 2003 - According to a recent news article at Yahoo Korea, there is a rumour going around that Kim Eiji is dating Chun Myung Hoon of NRG. They were apparently drinking and Eiji got drunk and Myung Hoon leaned in and kissed Eiji on the neck. Supposedly someone saw the two kissing, but Eiji denies the kiss, saying what they did is a lot more innocent than people think.

Baby VOX left Washington DC today, Tuesday, the first of July. It's back to Korea and then on to China!

Before Baby VOX came to the USA, they had thier fan meeting with Japanese fans. They sang 'What Can I Do', then had a question and answer session. Next they sang 'Devotion' and then took pictures with fans and autographs. They finished the meeting off with 'Majimaken'.

June 23, 2003 - Another new release from Baby VOX! It's called 'The Selection of Baby VOX 5th Anniversary New & Best Songs'. Looks like it is one cd with the best songs from past and present, along with a VCD! Click here to buy!

June 18, 2003 - Since the June 22nd Seoul Concert was cancelled, Baby VOX, DR Music and the Japanese Fan Club have struck a deal. It's called '20 People Over/20 People Under'. It is a special fan meeting in Korea for Japanese fans. If over 20 people show up, there will be lunch with Baby VOX, pictures and posters to be signed by Baby VOX, time to have your picture taken with them and a short, 2-3 song mini concert. If under 20 people show up, it will be the same with no mini concert. Those fans who bought tickets to the June 22nd concert have the choice of either exchaning them for tickets for a September concert or an autograph made out personally to them, name and everything.

May 29, 2003 - Good news! Yesasia has decided to go ahead and release the Photo Album to the US and online in general! After recieving many complaints from customers, Yesasia realized how much the photo album meant to fans, they decided to release it! If you had a preorder in and did not cancel it, it is being shipped soon. If you haven't ordered yet, you can do so now!

May 27, 2003 - For those who preordered the Baby VOX Photo Album - it's not going to be made available in the US. Customers of Yesasia who have preordered the photo album have been receiving messages stating that the PA is not coming to the US and a phone rep from Yesasia has confirmed it. According to dearmusic and cafe daum, the reason is due to pirating. The pictures we have seen were leaked and were not supposed to be, so they are keeping the album from the US.

Personally, I have not gotten the cancellation notice from yesasia yet. I'd like to think that they wont cancel my order, but I'm sure it'll happen. I'm in the process of trying to find some place other than yesasia to buy it, and if I do, i'll let everyone know.If any visitors to this site lives in Asia, you can still get the PA. And if so, buy one for me! -_-

May 26, 2003 - Baby VOX reached #1 for the first time in China. The song in question is the Chinese Version of their 6th album song "I'm Still Loving You" which hit #1 on a Chinese radio program on May 20. Baby VOX are the first Korean or foreign group to claim the top spot in the chart. This came about without Baby VOX doing any activities in China due to the SARS scare.

May 23, 2003 - Here is some great info concerning the DC Concert:

-Performer Update - G.O.D WILL NOT be coming. There were some internal conflicts. A suitable replacement will be found.

Seating charts are not available as of yet. To get a general idea, the front row is reserved for special guests. The frontmost seats are for $100 and $150 ticket holders. Then, $75, $50, $25.

You do not have to bring your own chair for $100 seats.

Performer Update - Bi has just been added to the list, and former SES member Eugene is the new female MC.

There are no longer $250 tickets because they are not being sold anymore

At this point, there are no autograph sessions. It's being worked on to make that happen, though. There are various security issues with this. You can take photographs.

There are several rows of $150 ticket holders. They will not all be in one row. The front row is reserved for special guests.

There is currently no seating chart. It will be out soon!

Video cameras are not allowed in the concert.

The length of time it takes for your receipt to arrive is dependant on where you live.

If you have already purchased tickets, you will receive a receipt which you trade in at will call at the concert. The seating will be arranged by the order in which the tickets were bought. You also may come to the office in Annandale to pick up your tickets.

May 4, 2003 - A raucus is being stirred in Korea after several adult sites advertised that they have Baby VOX nude pics. This was after several media outlets said that early photos from Baby VOX's upcoming photo album showed enough skin to at least earn the semi-nude label. Even though none of the pictures in the photo album are all nude unlike the claim of the Korean porn sites the photo album is being highly anticipated especially among the male crowd all over Asia. Several pictures have already been circulated in the mobile world. Baby VOX who are currently performing "What Should I Do" are expected to release the photo album around May 10.

April 26, 2003 - Baby VOX will release their long awaited first photo album in early May. Pictures from the photo album and behind the scene cuts have already been circulating in the mobile world since yesterday April 25. Rumors spread around since last year that the album would feature semi-nude photos. While Baby VOX emphatically denied the rumors early photos have been described as very revealing including Kim EZ seemingly naked with only a towel covering her most private parts, Shim Eun Jin in a bikini, Kan Mi Youn bathing in a bathtub and Lee Hee Jin wearing vinyl clothing. Photos are from a trip taken to Thailand in February. The album will also contain photos taken in a Seoul studio on March 15 which will show the members experimenting with body painting. The photo album will also be released at the same time in Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan and China.

April 25, 2003 - Baby VOX is staring a video service for mobile phones! On April 24th, SK - a Korean mobile phone company - started using BAby VOX music videos and photos as a service for thier mobile phones.

Also, it's rumoured that another Baby VOX VCD will be published soon. It is said that it will be out the second week of May, but this is not certain at all!

April 22, 2003 - Yesasia has finally updated the release date on the photo album. It's now set for April 30th. We'll see!

April 21, 2003 - I hate to admit this, but I was actually wrong. Through contacts with the japanese fan club, japanese official site and DRMusic, I managed to find out the truth.

The autographs on 1000 cds were in fact signed by Baby VOX. Profits from the signed cds go to help out the Red Cross. Baby VOX actually took the time to sign 1000 copies because of the help it would give. I dont know how many Yesasia has in stock, but I know japanese stores who sold the autographed albums, those are real. Also, more of the autographed cds are going to be made available as soon as Baby VOX has time to sign more. The Red Cross, Baby VOX and certain stores had a contract having BV sign the cds. This contract was made personally with the head of DRMusic. So overseas cds are in fact signed. And yesasia's as well I would think. So enjoy those autographed cds everyone!

Today, Baby VOX comes to New York for a radio program. In 1903, the first Koreans came to the USA for the first time, so this year, 2003 is the 100th anniversary. To celebrate this year, MBC radio plans a program in New York.

NYC News - This is still completly up in the air. It's been close to %100 confirmed that they will be travelling to the United States, but again, no public performances. They will be taping a TV show that will be broadcast on MBC.

April 1, 2003 - The New York rumour as turned out to be false. It's still unconfirmed if they even are coming back to the states, but if they do, it's only to appear on a radio show. No concert will be held at all and if they do the radio show, no fans will allowed near it or inside. Sorry to get your hopes up!

March 27, 2003 - This is pretty much a more concise article detailing all the news I've been giving in here, with a few extras:

Baby VOX were able to pull their Comeback date for today March 27 at KBS Music Bank. They will also be holding Comeback Specials on March 29 at MBC Music Camp and March 30 at SBS Inky Gayo. Meanwhile heir 6th album is scheduled for release on April 2. The album will also be released at the same time in 6 other Asian countries. In fact pre-orders from those countries have been reportedly record breaking including 200,000 pre-orders from China, 50,000 pre-orders from Taiwan, 30,000 from Hong Kong and 120,000 from Thailand. That would amount to a total of 400,000 pre-orders from those 4 countries alone. That would translate to the equivalent of 2.3 million US dollars in revenue from foreign orders. Profit from each CD sold amounts to about 6 US dollars. If 500,000 albums are sold in the foreign market as expected revenue could amount to as much as 3 million dollars. A good number of pre-orders have also been taken from Japan and Vietnam. The title track written by "hit maker" Kim Chang Hwan is called "What Can I Do" and features a strong European pop beat.

March 26, 2003 - Last night, the 25th, Baby VOX recorded the sixth album title song, 'Na Eo Teok Haeh' at the Mnet Hall in Seoul. It will be broadcast on March 28th on Mnet Cable TV. According tho those present at the recording, the song has a similar feel as 'Oo Yon'.

March 24, 2003 - The title track for the sixth album is supposedly called "Nah Eo Teok Haeh" or "What Can I Do". The release date for the sixth album is still sitting at April 3, 2003.

March 22, 2003 - While Baby VOX was in Thailand for the Asian Magnificent Music Ceremony, they stayed at a haunted hotel. They had heard rumours that the hotel they were staying in was haunted so they didnt't sleep very well at all. Lee Heejin had mentioned that she had heard that two singers who had previously stayed at the hotel saw a ghost who would sit on thier bed with glowing eyes. Baby VOX was extremely nervous and even the slightest sound scared them.

March 20, 2003 - Baby VOX, who were supposed to have their 6th Album Comeback Special on SBS Inky Gayo on March 23 instead will not come back on stage until early April. DR Music announced the delay on March 19 because of a distracting incident where 6th album ringtones were released without their permission. Telecommunication companies made ringtones containing 6th album melodies available for download starting March 13 without waiting for the album to be released. Out of the 14 songs in the 6th album 9 of them were made available including "What Can I Do," "Hold Me," "It Must Be Love" and "Tears". Baby VOX who were shocked by the news had the services soon stopped. Even though this isn't considered as damaging as when Park Ji Yoon's 6th album were posted online in mp3 format a week before its official release it is still considered a serious situation. Baby VOX who said that they invested 2 years and more than $300,000 on the 6th album estimated that damages resulting from the cell phone services will total 1.7 million US dollars. DR Music is currently investigating a lawsuit. The cell phone services explained that they released the ringtones because the contracts said that the 6th album would be out by early March but later apologized. Current plans are for Baby VOX to have their Comeback Special on either April 3 at KBS Music Bank or April 6 on Inky Gayo. The 6th album is expected to be released in early to mid April.

Follow up to the news I posted yesterday - Baby VOX is in Thailand for the Asia Music Festival Awards where they will be representing Korea. The Festival which is sponsored by the Thai government will be attended by representing gasoos from Asian countries such as Japan and China and will take place over two days March 21-22. Baby VOX will return to Korea on March 23 to get ready for their long awaited Comeback.

March 19, 2003 - Baby VOX is back in Bangkok, Thailand. They are there to perform a concert at the Pattaya Music Festival and a few other places around Thailand. They'll be appearing on tv shows and radio shows while there. They'll be in Bangkok from March 19th to appox. the 22nd. Baby VOX plans on performing songs from thier upcoming new sixth album.

March 13, 2003 - The release date for the albums is ever changing. Both the music album and the photo album have been pushed back. Now the photo album isn't going ot be out until April 20th and the music album isn't due out until April 3rd. Let's all hope that they don't change the date even more!

March 12, 2003 - The Baby VOX Sixth music album release date has been pushed up to March 17th!! It's coming even sooner!

For those Japanese Baby VOX fans out there, thier first mini album for Japan is going on sale today, March 12! Head to stores and pick one up!

March 10, 2003 - The long awaited sixth album will be released on March 20th, along with the photo album!

In other news, it is rumoured that Kim Eiji is 'dating' China's Aaron Kwok.

March 6, 2003 - Hong Kong's top star Aaron Kwok recorded a duet with Kim Eiji this March 1st. The duet which will be included on Aaron Kwok's new album, was written and produced by David Tom and the lyrics were written by the members of Baby Vox. The song will also be included on Baby Vox's coming 6th album. Aaron Kwok has a Korean version and Baby Vox has also recorded a Chinese version of the song which will be sung together by Kwok and Baby Vox in future international concerts.

February 21, 2003 - Baby VOX is returning to Korea today to finish up work on thier sixth album, which now won't be released until mid-March.

February 19, 2003 - Baby VOX is now in Thailand! They're busily finishing up the photo album as well as in the middle of the first Chinese song on MTV. Baby VOX is in very healthy condition! Around the 20th they should complete the photos, return to Korea to promote the photo album and the sixth album. They might also go to China to promote both releases as well!

February 13, 2003 - Baby VOX was in LA on Sunday, February 9th to help celebrate the Lunar New Year. For more on that, visit the LA Spectacular. Currently plans are for Baby VOX to head over to Jamaica on the 10th for four nights and five days to begin the album shoot. After the album shoot they will return to Korea to put the finishing touches on the 6th album. Baby VOX who has always been popular in China will try their hands on the foreign market more than ever this year. Besides their stop-over in America they will also be doing tours in China, Thailand (where they will represent Korea for the Thai Grammys on March 21) and Japan where they are planning to release a single album this year.

January 29, 2003 - Baby VOX will be contributing to a roughly translated "The Earth Village Loves the Heart" song collaboration. Mr. Li Jing Xie from China is in charge of the project and it will help countries that need relief, such as Vietnam, Mongolia, Cambodia, Philippines, and China. Baby VOX will participate in activities to promote the collaboration and the relief effort.

January 29, 2003 - Baby VOX has fiercly denied any break up rumours. Rumours have been flying around online saying that Baby VOX will be breaking up soon. In reality, they are stronger than ever and thier contract with DRMusic does not end until 2005. January 29, 2003 - One of Hong Kong's richest and most respected men, Guo Fu Cheng (also known as Aaron Kwok) recently invited Baby VOX to attend a private meeting and dinner. Hong Kong media and entertainment was also there.

In Hong Kong's "Thing Media" and "Eastern News" magazines, it was reported that Guo Fu Cheng invited Baby VOX for a special meeting to discuss plans.

"They have a very youthful and charming feeling to them," Guo Fu Cheng said on the 20th. He also said, "I want to sing with them in a meeting in July for their new album." At that specific time, Guo Fu Cheng already decided to open in Korea with Baby VOX.

After eating dinner that day, Baby VOX and Guo Fu Cheng sang and danced together.

January 24, 2003 - Baby VOX will be releasing their self acclaimed semin-nude photo album in March in 6 different countries: Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Baby VOX is currently negotiating with telecommunication companies SK Telecom and KTF to have the pictures available for download for both cellular phones and the Internet in all 6 countries. Each member has already received 1,000,000,000 won or US $830,000 for the photo album. Revenue from the cell phone and Internet deals is expected to bring a total income of 10,000,000,000 won or 8.3 million dollars. Other Kpop gasoos such as Shinhwa and Kang Sung Hoon recently had such nude photo shoots but Baby VOX would be the first female group to do so. It was first announced last year that the photo album would happen. The photo shoot for the nude album will take place in Mexico and Jamaica in mid-February. Even though none of the pictures will show everything it's being publicized that they will be very exotic in style. Meanwhile Baby VOX's 6th album is scheduled to come out in late February. Baby VOX already announced that their music album will have a similar concept to their photo album. Currently plans are for the 5 members to leave for Los Angeles on February 8 to attend a Hollywood festival and do a TV performance and then immediately head over to Jamaica for 4 nights and 5 days to begin the album shoot. After the album shoot they will return to Korea to put the finishing touches on the 6th album. January 15, 2003 - Baby VOX will be launching a promotional tour in 5 regions, including Hong Kong, China, USA, Japan, and Thailand. They will start off on January 17 in Hong Kong for 5 days, followed by a concert in Kwang Dung, China on January 23. They will then briefly visit Korea to finish up their new album. They will head for a week-long trip to Los Angeles on February 8 to participate in the California festival in Hollywood as well as in the KSCI TV taping and concert. In March, Baby VOX will release a single album in Japan, followed by the April release of the music for the 3D animation game Platonic Chain. They will round off their international promotion with an appearance at the Thailand Grammy Asian Music Awards on March 21.

January 9th, 2003 - This is the most recent travelling schedule for Baby VOX. Eiji will proceed to the capital next month for participation in photographs for "Beijing my love". Baby VOX will be in Hong Kong on January 17th to 22nd. They will perform on January 23rd to 25th at the Guangdong Huizhou. They've been working on the new album, so no new news about that except that this new album will display a more maturer side. Moreover, the stage performances will be all new and Baby VOX is coming up with a new look. Baby VOX hopes fans can have patience!
